Here’s everything you need to know about the benefits of facial hydration.

Today we are going to talk about the most recognized and recommended facial treatment by Hollywood and Bollywood divas. The benefits of HydraFacial make it the most sought after and instant radiance boosting beauty treatment. Bollywood celebrities do this right before an important movie screening or an event where they want to look their best instantly.

What is a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is the only hydra-dermabrasion procedure that uses patented technology to cleanse, extract and moisturize. Utilizing the power of medical grade hydradermabrasion, this aesthetic device allows you to improve the appearance of your skin during a facial that does not require any abrasive microdermabrasion.

To learn more about this treatment that is making waves in the beauty world, HealthShots spoke with Dr. Nivedita Dadu, a renowned dermatologist, founder and president of Dadu Medical Center.

“This treatment involves medical-grade hydradermabrasion, but there is much more to it than that. It is important to note that the HydraFacial is a patented device and there is nothing like it. It has the ability to cleanse, exfoliate, extract and moisturize the skin simultaneously,” says Dr. Dad

How is a HydraFacial done?

According with the doctor. Dadu, a HydraFacial comprises patented technology to cleanse, extract and hydrate the skin in a period of 30 minutes. Its claim to fame is non-invasive nature; therefore, there is no need for pore pinch extractions. When a person undergoes treatment, everything depends on a trained specialist and a machine with a monitor that displays the built-in protocols and technical updates.

The tubes coming out of the machine include the one with a sterile, interchangeable head, with a handpiece that performs the facial. There is also a skin imaging component to show people tangible skin changes before and after the procedure. Behind the machine is a bottle that collects all the vile impurities that were removed from your skin during the treatment.

The HydraFacial machine uses water to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. The treatment loosens dirt and grime from inside the pores. The machine then uses its rotating vortex device (a cyclic movement of the flushing water) to wash away loose dirt and grime. Then, finally, your specialist infuses the skin with high-quality serums tailored to the skin’s unique goals. This treatment provides clearer, cleaner and smoother skin, without any abrasive or uncomfortable treatments.

How do the benefits of HydraFacial trump microdermabrasion or a traditional chemical peel?

Microdermabrasion treatments use manual extractions, while HydraFacial uses a vacuum-like tip to cleanse more deeply than a traditional extraction. This is also much less painful. Also, chemical peels use acids and are most effective on lighter skin tones, while HydraFacials can be used on all shades. The treatment has the ability to hydrate the skin and separate HydraFacial from all other skin resurfacing procedures. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating and immediately effective.

What are the side effects of HydraFacial?

HydraFacials can be performed on most skin types, including very sensitive skin. But, those with active rashes, sunburn, or rosacea should refrain from HydraFacials, which can cause further damage or flare-ups. Additionally, some of the ingredients used during HydraFacial, such as salicylic acid, have not been tested or proven safe during pregnancy. This treatment is never painful – in fact, patients compare the sensation to a light massage. By combining vortex pressure with a solution of salicylic acid, willow bark extract and anti-inflammatory Tasmanian pepper, the device sucks the goo out of your pores, without the need for squeezing or pressing.

What makes a HydraFacial better than a regular facial?

Traditional facials can be effective for many people, but they are not necessarily the best ones available. If you’ve had a traditional facial, you may have had skin extractions to remove blackheads and pore debris. When these are done by a trained professional, they shouldn’t cause damage to the skin, but they can still be uncomfortable. One of the main benefits of HydraFacial is that it is able to perform these extractions in a less invasive and uncomfortable way that is just as, if not more, effective than traditional extractions.

Given the increased levels of pollution, the treatment is quick to pull out the impurities with which our skin pores get clogged. Regular facials typically dry out the skin for a short period of downtime, but a HydraFacial pumps hydration back into the skin in the form of proprietary serums.
